Jose Ramirez has gotten off to a dominant start for the first-place Cleveland Guardians and has led this team to a 39-19 record behind his league-leading 57 RBIs and team-leading 16 home runs.
He has been the familiar steadying force that the team has needed in the absence of Steven Kwan and Shane Bieber, and Ramirez says the fans have been a big reason why things have gone so well in Cleveland thus far in 2024.
Bally Sports Cleveland shared a postgame media clip from Ramirez after last night’s 3-2 win over the Washington Nationals and Ramirez praised the fans for showing up, saying “It’s really exciting to see, you don’t see that often, but we appreciate the energy and it’s always nice to have that support because we feel it and we hope that the fans keep showing up the way they have.”

Ramirez, Josh Naylor, and David Fry have formed an unlikely powerful trio at the heart of this Guardians lineup, and fans are showing up in droves regardless of the opponent, particularly over the weekends with 36,725 fans showing up for yesterday’s victory.
Ramirez is on pace for a historic output this season, as his current trajectory has him on track for 45 home runs and 159 RBIs.
If he keeps hitting like this, the team will keep winning, and that will keep fans showing up.
The Guardians will aim to complete the sweep of the Nationals on Sunday as they continue through a favorable portion of their schedule that sees them face five last-place teams over the course of about a month.
