Following a rather disappointing 2021 season for the Cleveland Guardians, it’s safe to say there are now reasons to go to Progressive Field and support the team day after day.
They are 43-44, sure, but they aren’t that far out of first place: the Minnesota Twins are just 4.5 games ahead, a manageable gap if the organization uses its pieces right.
Additionally, the organization has a nice surprise in store for the first 10,000 fans in attendance for Friday’s game.
“This Friday the first 10,000 through the gates will receive this necklace with a goat on it! @MrLapara approved!” the Guardians Hot Dogs account tweeted, with a picture of the mustard mascot holding the necklace with a Jose Ramirez (Mr. Lapara himself, in case you didn’t know) picture in it.

A Cool Piece For The First 10,000 Fans In Attendance
It’s actually a cool piece to collect with the photo of the Guardians’ best player and face of the franchise.
The Guardians are about to start an important series on Friday against the Detroit Tigers at home.
Winning at least two games would be crucial to keep the Twins relatively close in the standings.
Additionally, ending the first half on a high note would be an important morale boost ahead of the second half.
As for Ramirez, he has been having a dream year so far: he signed a lucrative extension to stay in Cleveland for the long term, and he is leading the charge for an up-and-coming team with a .285/.366/.564 line, 17 home runs, 68 RBI, and 13 stolen bases.
In other words, nothing has changed performance-wise for him: he remains a top player in the league.
His Guardians, however, while flawed, are competing for a place in the postseason.
