The Cleveland Guardians have always been – and will always be – Jose Ramirez’s team.
However, this is a team sport nonetheless, and everybody needs help to get to the top.
That’s why it’s about time people give Daniel Schneemann more credit.
While never outspoken or that popular, the Guardians’ utility man has been instrumental to the team’s success.
As pointed out by the team on X, Schneemann should be a strong candidate to win the Gold Glove this season.
So far, he’s logged +7 outs above average, a +8 fielding run value, and has done so while playing six different positions.

It takes a whole team to get a team to the playoffs, but Schneemann has certainly played his part.
He’s had some timely hits for Stephen Vogt’s team, and he’s been the ultimate jack of all trades, playing reliable defense regardless of where he’s had to step up.
The Guardians have emerged as the hottest team in baseball during the most crucial stretch of the campaign.
They’re just a couple of wins away from securing the AL Central divisional pennant, which is something that seemed almost impossible to even dream about just a couple of months ago.
The pitching staff has been absolutely elite, and they’ve even stepped up at the plate after struggling to put up runs on the board for most of the season.
Once it’s all said and done and the fans look back on this season, they will have to give their utility man more credit.
