Baseball players often don’t know the kind of impact they can have on fans, especially the younger ones.
Kids see players as heroes, and they want to be like them.
For a sick child who loves baseball, being visited by a professional player is one of the coolest things they can experience.
Part of MLB teams and players’ duties involves giving back to the community.
The Cleveland Guardians know this, and make sure to contribute to the society in any way they can: hospital visits, giving away equipment and baseball gear, building baseball fields, donating uniforms, you name it.
Carlos Carrasco and Estevan Florial, two valued members of the Guardians active roster, took some time recently to pay a wholesome visit.
“Special visitors @CleGuardians players Carlos Carrasco and Estevan Florial stopped by to hang out with some of our pediatric patients and pass out gear. The kids and their families loved the surprise! Thanks for spreading smiles and making memories with us!” Cleveland Clinic News tweeted.

The kids loved the experience, and the players themselves look extremely happy.
Carrasco himself – one of the most popular members of the Guardians roster – knows what it’s like to fight a tough illness, as he had a leukemia diagnosis a few years ago and beat it.
He knows that his visit will fill these kids with energy and happiness, and that is just priceless.
The kids shared beautiful moments with the players and also got Guardians gear to wear proudly.
All things considered, it was definitely a great day.
