The Cleveland Guardians have been fortunate enough to get excellent production from their rookies this year.
Daniel Schneemann has a .854 OPS, Angel Martinez checks in at 1.007, and Jhonkensy Noel is at .889, just to name a few.
More than luck, you could say it’s skill and talent from the players and from the organization: coaching and player development are strengths in Cleveland.
Whereas most rookies have struggled right out of the gate league-wide, that’s not the case with Cleveland.
Schneemann, in particular, has been very impressive.
After homering on Wednesday and posting a .247/.348/.506 entering play on Thursday, his name is in the cleanup spot as the Guardians try to take the series against the Detroit Tigers.
Schneemann has been able to avoid slumps because he has been capable of adjusting on the go, a trait that separates the good from the great.
He discussed that at length with Bally Sports Cleveland.
“It just gives me confidence.” Daniel Schneemann is learning how to counter the adjustments pitchers have made against him and continues taking advantage of his opportunities with the @CleGuardians,” they tweeted.

The Guardians can’t play him every day due to their impressive depth, but they do their best to write his name in the lineup most days.
Schneemann saw lots of fastballs upon being called up, and he has proven he can hit that pitch (.634 slugging percentage against heaters).
Now, however, he says that pitchers have become more careful when pitching to him, looking for the outer part of the zone and using more soft stuff.
On Wednesday, he homered to the opposite field, which shows how he has been able to make the adjustments with his hips, legs, and hands to punish pitches outside.
Schneemann has become a really dangerous hitter and the Guardians can’t really ask for much more from him.
