To say that the Cleveland Guardians haven’t been the most competitive team in baseball would be a bit of an understatement.
Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean they haven’t been in the playoff mix.
More often than not, they have reached the postseason.
That was more evident in a tweet shared by Guardians Prospective.
Apparently, the Guardians are tied for the third-most postseason appearances over the last decade (7).
They join the likes of the Atlanta Braves and Milwaukee Brewers, and they trail only the Los Angeles Dodgers (10), Houston Astros, and New York Yankees (8 each) on that list.

Of course, the Guardians have never been able to compete with the biggest markets when it comes to spending big bucks or luring the biggest names to Cleveland.
However, this indicates that there are numerous ways to stay competitive and assemble a playoff-caliber team.
Granted, more often than not, the fans will complain about the fact that this team usually looks to part ways with its most prominent players once they get too expensive.
But after watching this type of stat, it’s hard to disagree with the way they run their business.
At the end of the day, the Guardians have found a balance between staying competitive in the present and building for the future.
And with an up-and-coming manager like Stephen Vogt leading the way and the best third baseman in the game, in Jose Ramirez, this team should always have a chance to make the playoffs, just like they showed this season.
