The Cleveland Guardians’ farm system is the gift that keeps on giving.
While everybody’s focused on position players, 26-year-old left-hander Ryan Webb is also making a name for himself at Triple-A.
As pointed out by Guardians Prospective on X, Webb recently struck out a season-high nine hitters for Columbus.
He gave up four runs in 6.2 innings against Gwinnett.

The Guardians took Webb in the fourth round of the 2021 MLB Draft.
He was recovering from Tommy John surgery at the time, so he had to wait until 2022 to make his debut.
Then, he logged a 3.92 ERA in 10 starts at Single-A.
An oblique injury derailed his promising 2023 campaign.
He started the year at High-A Lake County he could only make 17 starts and had a 3.29 ERA with 83 strikeouts in 82 innings.
Webb later led the Arizona Fall League in strikeouts, holding his own against the finest prospects in the minors.
He continued his journey in Double-A in 2024 and finished the year with a 2.87 ERA in 18 starts and 106.2 innings to earn a promotion to Triple-A late in the season.
The Guardians have a long history of finding and developing solid prospects.
Injuries and availability will continue to be a bit of a concern, but with the way Webb has pitched in the minors, he could be in the mix to get his chance in the majors next season.
