The Cleveland Guardians have a long history of finding and developing gems all over Latin America.
Finding young talent is the best way to compete when you don’t want to spend.
That’s why they’ve invested so much time and resources in their farm system.
With that in mind, it’s not much of a surprise to see them leading the race to land yet another high-end prospect.
According to a report by Guardians Prospective, the Guardians are currently the favorites to sign catcher prospect Sebastian Puche.
Puche, a native of Zulia, Venezuela, is currently training with Luis Romero.
And just like some of his compatriots and fellow prospects, he won’t be eligible to sign until the 1/15/26 International signing day.

That day figures to be quite a busy one for the Guardians, as, just like every other MLB team, they’re currently keeping tabs on well over a dozen international prospects.
Of course, that’s not to say that all of them will turn out to be stars, make it to the team, or even make it to the show.
Countless factors can impact a player’s development and career.
From luck, physical tools, and maturity, all the way to health, there are so many things that could go sideways with every single player they get in the farm system.
Then again, given the team’s long track record of solid scouting and even better player development, there are plenty of reasons to feel excited every single time they get their hands on a promising prospect.
