The Cleveland Guardians boast an elite bullpen.
Counting the relievers who are currently injured, hitters wouldn’t stand a chance.
Think about Sam Hentges, Trevor Stephan and Erik Sabrowski joining Emmanuel Clase, Hunter Gaddis, Tim Herrin, Cade Smith and Andrew Walters.
It could happen at some point this season, and it could be historically good.
One of the injured pitchers, Sabrowski, recently took a step forward with his recovery.
“Cleveland Guardians LHP Erik Sabrowski (left elbow inflammation) has extended his throwing distance to 90 feet. Sabrowski if all goes well could possibly be back on the mound in late April or early May,” Guardians Prospective wrote on X.

Elbow inflammation should not be taken lightly, which is why Cleveland is taking a cautious approach to his recovery.
The Guardians are gradually increasing his throwing distance until he is ready to return to bullpen sessions.
Then, he would need some live batting practice and minor league games (or extended spring training) to prepare for MLB action.
If all goes well and there are no additional setbacks, he could be back in the Guardians bullpen before Memorial Day.
Sabrowski is a big part of the bullpen because there aren’t many dominant, healthy lefties besides Herrin.
They need Sabrowski back as soon as he is deemed healthy enough to compete.
He made quite the impression last year, with an immaculate 0.00 ERA in 12.2 innings.
He also struck out 19 hitters against just four walks.
Sabrowski has everything the Guardians need in a lefty reliever.
They just need him to get healthy.
