The Cleveland Guardians could use some help right now, and turning to their farm system might be the perfect solution.
Unfortunately, some of the players who could’ve helped them right now aren’t healthy.
And to add insult to injury, their first-round pick from this year’s MLB Draft might not be ready to take the field at all, either.
According to a report by team insider Zack Meisel, Chase DeLauter, Jace LaViolette, and Juan Brito are all dealing with nagging injuries.
Chase DeLauter will visit hand specialist Dr. Thomas Graham early next week.
First-round pick Jace LaViolette is unlikely to play at an affiliate this season following a recent hand procedure.
Juan Brito is expected to remain out for "weeks" because of his hamstring strain.

DeLauter, who’s missed the last two games after the All-Star break with a wrist injury, will reportedly visit hand specialist Dr. Thomas Graham early next week.
LaViolette, the team’s first-round pick out of Texas A&M, is highly unlikely to suit up and play at any affiliate this season after undergoing a hand procedure shortly after the end of the college baseball season.
Last but not least, Brito will be out for weeks because of a hamstring strain.
Of course, this is far from ideal, given that Brito and DeLauter looked like a couple of potential solutions and answers to this team’s prayers.
LaViolette, on the other hand, is a physical specimen who could hold his own in the majors, but he’s still quite raw and would certainly benefit from the playing time.
At the end of the day, availability is the best of abilities, and the Guardians are doing the right thing by erring on the side of caution with their promising youngsters, even if that means keeping them off the field for a while.
