Three weeks ago, the Cleveland Guardians announced that star infield prospect Juan Brito was going to miss some time.
He sustained a hamstring injury late in the season, and he had to go under the knife.
However, even though this clearly wasn’t good news, it seems like things are marching right as planned for Brito and the Guardians.
As pointed out by Guardians Prospective on X, Brito is already out there getting some work done:
“Cleveland Guardians 24-year-old switch-hitting (2B) prospect Juan Brito who underwent left hamstring surgery on 9/10/25 is already back jogging out at the organizations Dominican Academy today. Brito was given an 8-12 week timetable on his rehab & recovery,” via Guardians Prospective.

Brito is currently the team’s No. 14 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline.
He had to undergo this surgery after aggravating his hamstring injury just when he was in the final stages of his recovery.
He first sustained the injury in July.
Before that, the young Dominican prospect made 24 appearances at Triple-A with the Columbus Clippers, averaging .256 with three home runs and 15 RBIs.
Brito entered the season with a legitimate chance to be the team’s starting second baseman.
He will most likely be in the mix again next season, although he will face some steep competition.
Stephen Vogt found success down the stretch with Gabriel Arias at shortstop and Brayan Rocchio at second base, and they will also most likely add No. 1 prospect Travis Bazzana to the mix.
Making a strong impression and beating all of them for a spot in the middle of the infield will be way easier said than done for Brito, all things considered.
Even so, he needs to focus solely on what he can control, and that’s getting back to full strength.
