The Cleveland Guardians have been one of the best stories in baseball through the first two months of the 2026 season, and a new farm system ranking from Bleacher Report serves as a reminder that the foundation supporting the major league club is just as impressive as what has been happening on the field.
Bleacher Report released updated MLB farm system rankings following their latest Top 100 Prospect update, and the Guardians came in at eighth overall in baseball, up from their seventh-place ranking on Opening Day.
Their top 10 prospects as listed by Bleacher Report: Travis Bazzana (Tier 1), Ralphy Velazquez (Tier 2), Angel Genao (Tier 2), Cooper Ingle (Tier 3), Braylon Doughty (Tier 4), Khal Stephen (Tier 4), Juneiker Caceres (Tier 4), Jaison Chourio (Tier 4), Dean Curley and Juan Brito.
The timing of the ranking could not be more fitting given everything that has happened in the Cleveland minor league system over the last several days. Velazquez was promoted to Triple-A Columbus last week after hitting .314 with seven home runs and a .980 OPS in 36 games at Akron. Cooper Ingle, ranked fourth in the system, is currently posting a 1.194 OPS at Columbus with 29 walks in 28 games. Angel Genao, ranked third, is another young infielder with significant upside who has drawn consistent praise from evaluators throughout his time in the organization.
And then there is Travis Bazzana, the top-ranked prospect in the system who is no longer a prospect at all. He is a 23-year-old second baseman in his first month of big league ball hitting .288 with a .409 on-base percentage and an .793 OPS, and Stephen Vogt has repeatedly praised his process, his diligence and his makeup as a player.
An eighth-place farm system ranking combined with a 30-22 major league record and a six-game winning streak is not a common combination. Most organizations are either winning now or building for the future. Cleveland appears to be doing both simultaneously, which is exactly what Chris Antonetti and the front office have constructed over the last several years through patient development, smart drafting and the kind of organizational consistency that produces results at every level.
The pipeline is loaded. The big league club is rolling. And the best of what is coming from Columbus has not even arrived in Cleveland yet.
