With the second half of the season now underway, we turn our attention to the trade market, where Juan Soto is the ultimate prize for a team looking to make a run.
After contract extension talks between Soto and the Washington Nationals fell apart, many are now speculating where the slugger will land.
In the case of the Cleveland Guardians, many fans of the team have sounded off about a potential deal to bring Soto to Cleveland on Twitter.
Nothing is imminent, however, and the Guardians are not one of the teams said to be in on Soto.
Several Guardians fans point out why they think a deal for him might be dangerous.
I don't think the Guardians will go get Juan Soto.
I don't think the Guardians are a Juan Soto away from competing.
I don't want the Guardians to go for Juan Soto unless they also go for Willson Contreras and a reliever
I'm afraid to see what the Juan Soto price tag looks like

Soto To Cleveland Unlikely
Soto would cost the Guardians, or any team for that matter, a lot of prospects.
For the Guardians, it just isn’t worth it.
Teams in bigger markets are the ones that are probably going to try and make a play for the slugger; teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, New York Yankees, San Diego Padres, and several more.
It’s hard to imagine the Nationals not wanting somebody like Andres Gimenez, or even Emmanuel Clase.
The asking price is going to be too high.
That doesn’t mean that the Guardians won’t make moves to improve the team and try to make a run.
It just means that Soto is most likely not in their plans.
You never know for sure, but it seems highly unlikely that Cleveland is going to try for the slugger and Home Run Derby champ.
But we’ll see what the Guardians ultimately decide to do at the deadline.
