The Cleveland Guardians have made a few key moves this offseason, signing veteran catcher Mike Zunino and slugger Josh Bell to bolster their offense.
However, this does not mean that the Guardians are done making moves.
In fact, Jim Bowden of The Athletic believes that there is more to come.
In his recent column predicting each team’s next offseason move, Bowden stated that the Guardians are looking for an impact bat.
On Twitter, a Guardians fan replied to Bowden’s tweet and made his wishes very clear, hoping that veteran slugger Trey Mancini is the impact bat that the Guardians are looking for.

The Guardians lineup is already in good shape.
In addition to Bell and Zunino, both of whom are power threats, the Guardians still have Jose Ramirez, Oscar Gonzalez, Josh Naylor, Andres Gimenez, Amed Rosario, and Steven Kwan.
But the addition of another bat, in this case Mancini, would only help them solidify their position as the team to beat in the American League Central, a division the Guardians won by 11 games.
Mancini hit just .239 during the regular season, but still hit 18 home runs and is not too far removed from a 35-homer season in 2019.
If signed, Mancini could serve as a designated hitter for the Guardians, as well as take some reps at first base or in the outfield.
This addition, if it came to pass, would give the Guardians an elite lineup as they look to build off of their 2022 success and take the next step in 2023.
