The Cleveland Guardians started their four-game series against the Baltimore Orioles with wins on Thursday and Friday.
It looked like they could sweep one of the best teams in the American League and MLB.
However, the O’s came back to life and earned victories on Saturday and Sunday to split the series.
The Guardians were able to inflict damage on AL Cy Young candidate Corbin Burnes, scoring five runs (four earned) off him in five frames.
The problem, in this game, was that Cleveland’s pitchers were unable to contain one of the most prolific offenses in baseball, and that resulted in a 9-5 loss.

Cleveland’s lead in the AL Central is down to 4.5 games after the Minnesota Twins swept the Chicago White Sox and sent their losing streak all the way up to 20 games.
Gavin Williams had one of his worst outings of the season, conceding six runs in four innings with eight hits (!) and two walks.
He did strike out eight Orioles, but was extremely hittable on Sunday.
Gunnar Henderson and Jackson Holliday homered off Williams and started moving the needle from very early in the game.
The game served as a platform for Connor Gillispie’s major league debut.
The Guardians selected his contract from the minor leagues and he had an amazing performance, surrendering just one run in three innings of work.
The right-hander allowed two hits and two walks, striking out three hitters.
The Guardians will be hosting the reigning National League champions, the Arizona Diamondbacks, starting on Monday night.
