The Cleveland Guardians didn’t close out the season in the way they hoped for.
They were the hottest team in all of baseball in the final stretch of the regular season.
Then, they failed to win two games against the very same team they dominated to make the playoffs.
However, as disappointing as that may have been, the future seems bright for this team.
At least, that’s how Always the Jake seems to feel, as they took to social media to gush about the team’s youth movement.
They believe that the offense will be much better next season since Chase DeLauter, George Valera, C.J. Kayfus, and Travis Bazzana will all spend a full year on the roster.
Why is next year going to be different for the Guardians?
-DeLauter, Valera, Kayfus, and Bazzana will spend a full year on the roster. The offense will see a huge improvement from that alone
-The rotation will perform at levels we haven’t seen since 2018.

Bazzana has yet to make his MLB debut, and he’s taking some time off after an injury derailed his promising campaign in the minors.
Still, as the team’s No. 1 prospect, he should be considered a lock to either make the roster right away or at some point early in the season.
As for the other, there should be no question.
DeLauter made his debut in the playoffs, and while he couldn’t make much of an impact, his talent is mesmerizing and undeniable.
Valera finally fulfilled his destiny of making it to the majors, and the Guardians did the right thing by holding onto him amid his injury woes.
As for Kayfus, his positional versatility and timely hitting were a big boost for the team in the final stretch of the campaign.
The future is encouraging, for sure.
