The Cleveland Guardians proved what they were capable of in the final stretch of the regular season.
Despite their glaring offensive flaws, Stephen Vogt’s team still rallied behind strong pitching and timely hitting to get the job done.
That’s why, after watching them add young talent to the roster and close out the year on a high note, Nick Pedone believes it’s time to make some big moves:
The Guardians have to make a splash now. Have to.

The Guardians are on the verge of being a legitimate World Series contender.
They have a superstar outfielder, a strong rotation, a good manager, up-and-coming players, and the best third baseman in all of baseball.
Conversely, this is also a breaking point.
Either this team decides to make a splash and make a big-name signing to take things to the next level, or they have to move on from their best players and just hit the rebuild button.
They owe it to guys like Jose Ramirez and Steven Kwan to be more aggressive in free agency.
Ramirez has already made it loud and clear that the front office didn’t hold up its end of the bargain, adding that he only took that huge pay cut to stay in Cleveland so they could build a competitive roster around him.
This team is just too talented, and they proved that they’re mentally strong enough to overcome almost every adversity that comes their way.
That’s why they can’t afford to waste this momentum, and they must prove that they want to compete at the highest level, even if that means actually spending some money.
