Despite some members of the media and fans underestimating their incredible 2024 run and their ability to repeat it, people want to see the Cleveland Guardians.
They want to watch Steven Kwan’s incredible defense in left field and his plate discipline and contact.
They want to watch Emmanuel Clase rewrite the franchise history book, and the rest of the relievers teaming up to protect a one-run lead.
They will pay to see Gavin Williams and Tanner Bibee succeed at the top of the rotation, or Kyle Manzardo blossom into one of the best first basemen in the game.
And, of course, fans are eager to enjoy another elite season by Jose Ramirez.
People in Cleveland are very much invested in the 2025 Guardians, and it shows.
“The Guardians announced their home opener against the [Chicago] White Sox on April 8 is sold out, the 32nd straight season-opening full house at Progressive Field,” Tim Stebbins of MLB.com wrote on X.

For 32 consecutive years, the Guardians have sold every seat for the home opener.
That’s remarkable.
The excitement after Cleveland’s deep postseason run last year remains.
In 2024, the team reached the AL Championship Series and competed against the New York Yankees.
With many young players ready to take a step forward in their development, it wouldn’t be a shock to see Cleveland make it to the World Series for the first time since 2016.
Can they win it all?
That remains unknown, but it’s clear that people in the city will be there in a packed Progressive Field ready to greet their team.
