The Cleveland Guardians are still trying to come up with an organizational plan to improve their offense.
It’s often easier said than done, but it’s not like the team doesn’t have a few star-level pitchers and some very good offensive players.
They do have potential bounce-back candidates (Andrés Giménez), some established contributors (José Ramírez, Josh Naylor), and some very solid young prospects (Bo Naylor).
Still, they don’t have any players considered the best at their position, at least according to FanGraphs.
“Best teams at each position (according to FanGraphs): C – Orioles 1B – Braves 2B – Dodgers SS – Rays 3B – Orioles LF – Diamondbacks CF – Mariners RF – Braves DH – Dodgers/Astros SP – Phillies RP – Phillies,” Codify Baseball tweeted.

The closest thing the Guardians have to the best player at his position is third base, with J-Ram.
However, it’s hard to top the Baltimore Orioles, who are expected to place Gunnar Henderson and his projected 5.0 Wins Above Replacement (WAR) in the hot corner.
If they somehow keep Shane Bieber and he rebounds to pre-2023 levels, there is a chance the Guardians compete for the best rotation in the league.
They do have several young stars on the staff: Tanner Bibee, Gavin Williams, Logan Allen, and the more established Triston McKenzie.
Giménez has enormous potential if he can hit like he did in 2022, but it will be very hard to top Mookie Betts at second base.
The Guardians don’t have the best at any position, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are in bad shape heading to the 2024 campaign.
