The Cleveland Guardians’ farm system continues to impress.
First baseman/outfielder Ralphy Velazquez recently had a dream farewell to his team on his way to a promotion.
As reported by Guardians Prospective on X, the young star had two home runs in for High-A Lake County in a win against Dayton.
It gave him 17 home runs this season, which led the Midwest League.

After the game, the team announced that he, Jack Jasiak, Jacob Cozart and Christian Knapczyk were promoted to Double-A Akron.
They were instrumental in helping the Captains get to a 60-48 record and win eight of the last 12 games during a two-week road trip.
Now, Bennett Thompson, Garrett Howe, Jeffrey Mercedes, Rafe Schlesinger, Conner Whittaker and Luis Flores will look to keep things up when they suit up for Lake County after arriving from Low-A Lynchburg.
Velazquez is one of the most promising prospects in the organization.
He has a long way to go, but the fact that he’s already climbed to Double-A is telling of his talents, impact and improvement.
It will be a while before he makes his MLB debut, but if he keeps things up, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him earn a promotion to Triple-A Columbus and maybe even to the majors in the second half of the season.
The Guardians also announced that they promoted Travis Bazzana, the franchise’s top prospect, from Double-A to Triple-A Columbus.
