The Cleveland Guardians have some players on their current roster that have been so consistently good that they are already in prime positions in franchise history in some specific stats.
Jose Ramirez, for example, is already a top-ten player in Guardians history in multiple offensive categories, including home runs and stolen bases.
How would you react if we told you that in just fourth full season with the Guardians, Emmanuel Clase has a chance to become the all-time leader in saves for the franchise?
It’s very hard to believe, but it’s true.
At the moment, he is fifth with 122.
It’s unlikely he gets that many, but if he saves 27 more games this year, he will tie Cleveland’s all-time leader.
“Emmanuel Clase ranks 5th on Cleveland’s list of career saves with 122. He’s chasing: 4th: Chris Pérez 124 (2 to tie), 3rd: Doug Jones 129 (7 to tie), 2nd: Bob Wickman 139 (17 to tie), 1st: Cody Allen 149 (27 to tie)” Cleveland Stats tweeted.

Those are all historically relevant relievers in the history of the organization, but Clase has an outside chance of leapfrogging Allen by the end of the year.
The guy had 86 saves between 2022 and 2023, and is up to 12 in 2024.
Add that up to the 24 he got in 2021, and you get the amazing total of 122.
Considering how nasty he is, how unhittable that cutter is and how he is still just 26, the right-hander has a chance to finish his career as a top-five saves getter when all is said and done.
He is incredibly dominant and consistent, with a career 1.87 ERA.
If he keeps this up, Cooperstown awaits.
