When the Cleveland Guardians brought back Carlos Santana, they hoped that he would continue to age like a fine wine.
So far, that has seemed to be the case.
As shown by the Cleveland Guardians On SI on X, Santana just became the sixth active player to get at least 1,100 RBI in his career.
He drove in one with a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning of Saturday’s 7-1 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies to accomplish this milestone.
With that milestone, he joined the likes of Giancarlo Stanton, Andrew McCutchen, Nolan Arenado, Paul Goldschmidt, and Freddie Freeman.
Carlos Santana recorded his 1,100 career RBI in yesterday's game. He's now the sixth active player and only switch-hitter to accomplish that feat.#GuardsBall | #Guardians

Despite his age, the Dominican slugger has been one of the most reliable players on the team this season.
Following his walk on Sunday, he has now reached base safely in 14 consecutive games, a streak that dates back to Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Boston Red Sox on April 26.
Before the 3-0 loss, Santana had recorded at least one RBI in four consecutive games.
He has done so in five games in a row three times in his career, but he will now have to begin a new streak.
Santana needs just two more walks to become the second player in Guardians history with at least 900, and he would trail only the legendary Jim Thome (1,008) at the top of the list.
He’s currently the league’s active leader with 1,295 walks, and he’s just five shy of becoming the seventh switch-hitter to be walked at least 1,300 times.
By all means, he will go down as one of the greatest players to ever suit up for this organization.
