The Cleveland Guardians are a divisive team.
Some feel that they didn’t do enough to improve the roster after their AL Championship Series exit last year.
Others are willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
Some fans, however, recognize that each and every move they made was executed with a purpose and a reasoning behind it.
People in that last group believe that the Guardians are here to stay and have a legitimate chance to win the World Series.
Science communicator and TV presenter Bill Nye apparently belongs to that group of baseball fans who give Cleveland more than a fair chance to lift the trophy in the fall.
In fact, he predicts they will come out on top and break their World Series drought.
Fortunately, there is video evidence of his bold prediction, courtesy of the Guardians’ X account.

That’s right: the ‘Science Guy’ has the Guards winning the Fall Classic this year.
Despite what you might think about the ownership and the front office, the team does have a solid chance.
The Guardians’ only subtractions of note were Josh Naylor, Andrés Giménez, and Matthew Boyd.
Naylor’s 118 wRC+ was replaced with Carlos Santana’s 114 and more at-bats for the future at the first base position, Kyle Manzardo.
Giménez’s defense will be missed, but he had regressed badly with the bat and the team has internal options with excellent odds of returning a better offensive output.
Instead of Boyd and Alex Cobb, the team added youth and upside with Luis L. Ortiz and Slade Cecconi, and they secured the return of Shane Bieber, too.
If you add the prospects Cleveland netted in trades and the more than $100 million they cleared off the payroll with Giménez and Myles Straw, it’s a flawless off-season.
That financial flexibility can help them sign players, absorb pricy contracts via trade either now or ahead of the deadline, or even extend some of their guys.
Obviously Nye, also a baseball guy, sees a worthy project on the Guardians.
