The Cleveland Guardians moved on from Josh Naylor this offseason.
Now, it’s time for the younger brother to step up.
At least, that’s how Andre Knott feels.
Talking on ESPN Cleveland’s “The Really Big Show,” he claimed that this will be a massive season for the young catcher.
He agreed with Stephen Vogt when he said that it’s hard for young catchers to be good right out of the gate, but he also thinks it’s time for Naylor to step up.

He believes that the Guardians will be just fine if he somehow manages to hit .250 and give them something close to 15 home runs.

However, it will take a lot for him to raise his batting average from roughly .200 last season.
He showcased some power in his first full season in the league, but he needs to be more efficient at the plate to fulfill his potential.
He’s a good defensive player, and at 24, he’s still young, so there’s obviously plenty of room for growth and improvement.
We’ve seen catchers struggle to make an impact on offense early in their careers before breaking out.
His work ethic and talent are evident, but it will now be up to him to complete the task.
