The Cleveland Guardians are still alive in the AL playoff race, but earning a wild card will be easier said than done.
The Guardians have upcoming series against the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers, two teams ahead of them in the standings that are also chasing the Seattle Mariners.
With that in mind, MLB analyst Gabb Goudy expressed concerns about the Guardians’ offense in that race.
“Now, if they want to make a playoff push, they need to take games from those two teams. I don’t know if they’re going to be capable of doing it because they’re going to have to put runs on the board, obviously. That’s something they’re not really doing. But if they can, who’s to say?” Goudy said.
"If they can, who's to say?" #GuardsBall@gabbgoudy is in on a playoff push IF the Guards can score some runs!

The Guardians’ offense has been a talking point for all the wrong reasons this season.
It wasn’t much of a surprise, though, as trading away Josh Naylor was always expected to diminish their offensive prowess.
It has been up and down all year long, and that lack of consistency doesn’t translate to success.
Then again, the Guardians have shown they can get red hot in the blink of an eye, and they’ve been arguably the most resilient team in baseball.
They just need to find their groove to close out the season and, more importantly, take care of business against their direct opposition.
Failing to win at least two out of three games against each of them might end their postseason aspirations for good.
