The Cleveland Guardians have a legitimate superstar in their ranks right now.
Jose Ramirez has been on a tear from start to finish, but that’s not even a surprise anymore.
With that in mind, MLB analyst Craig Mish had an interesting choice of words about the Dominican infielder.
He claimed that Ramirez was the ‘most boring great player’ he had seen in a long time (via SportsGrid Fantasy).
While that might sound like a jab or a backhanded compliment, he meant that Ramirez was as consistent as they came, and everybody knew the type of stellar production they would get from him year in and year out:
“Jose Ramirez is just every year, same thing. You know exactly what you’re getting. 30 home runs, 30 steals, good average, he’s going to drive in a lot of runs. The most boring, great player we’ve seen in a long time,” Mish said.

All in all, Ramirez has had one of the best seasons of his career in 2025, which is a lot to say for a player of his caliber.
Unfortunately, that hasn’t necessarily translated to success, as his team has struggled to live up to the hype after reaching the ALCS last season.
Some fans went as far as to claim that the Guardians owed it to Ramirez to trade him away if they didn’t intend to make the necessary moves to compete at the highest level.
That might be taking things a little too far.
Still, it would be nice to watch them surround their MVP-caliber player with the supporting cast he needs to lead them to the mountaintop.
At least everybody can rest assured that he will be as good next season as he was this year, and for many years to come.
