The Cleveland Guardians are finally bouncing back.
They had to endure a dreadful month in June, and they looked like they were ready to call it quits.
Then, as soon as the trade deadline started closing in, they heated up and looked like a potential playoff-caliber team.
That’s why Nick Pedone doesn’t want to see Steven Kwan leave.
He took to social media to point out that the idea of trading him didn’t even make sense, and he called for the team to extend him instead.

According to multiple reports, the Guardians have been trying to get him to sign a contract extension for months now, but to no avail.
Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean that they will look to trade him just because that hasn’t happened yet.
He’s still under club control for a couple of years, so there should be no rush to get a deal done.
If anything, they should wait until the offseason to determine whether they can get a better trade offer for his services, assuming they do want to move on from him.
The Guardians have a long history of trading their best players before they get too expensive, so it’s easy to understand why some fans might feel like Kwan is going to be the next addition to that long list.
Even so, there have been no indications that the team is actively considering moving him, and it might take a whole lot for them to reconsider their stance and cut him loose.
