Despite entering the 2025 MLB season with some doubts and questions, the Cleveland Guardians have fared well.
The team is currently sitting on a respectable 22-15 record after 37 games, and they’ve had some gritty wins as of late.
Notably, that’s why ESPN took them from No. 16 all the way to No. 13 in their latest power rankings.
Granted, that might still not look like much for a team that’s seven games above .500 at the time of writing, but the Guardians rarely get the love and recognition they deserve.
Stephen Vogt’s team hasn’t been able to find much consistency from all its parts.
The offense has gone ice-cold when the starters have been dominant and vice versa.
Also, even Emmanuel Clase struggled to be at his best early in the season.
That being said, the team has still found ways to surge and win more often than not, and that kind of resiliency and ability to adapt speaks volumes about the manager and their determination.
We’re talking about a team that didn’t get any love entering the season despite reaching the ALCS just one year ago and keeping most of the same core.
The starting rotation is starting to catch its stride, and while this team still doesn’t have that much power, they should be considered a legitimate dark horse to go the distance this season.
Chances are that the Guardians will continue to be overlooked like they always are, but this team has the potential to make a lot of noise.
