The Cleveland Guardians enjoyed a brilliant campaign in 2024, winning 92 games against just 69 losses and reaching the American League Championship Series.
The 2024 Guards gave fans unforgettable moments both in the regular season and in the playoffs.
Manager Stephen Vogt, in his first year at the helm and tasked with replacing a history figure in Terry Francona, was behind it all.
He was the mastermind on the field, delivering his message to the players and trusting in their abilities.
Vogt was so good that he garnered 27 of 30 first place votes for the AL Manager of the Year award and ran away with the prestigious award in his first season as an MLB manager and just two years after retiring as a player.
According to Cleveland sportscaster Bruce Drennan, it would have been a catastrophic mistake not to give him the award.

Drennan pointed out some impressive facts about Vogt’s triumph in the AL MOY, facts that help secure his place in Guardians’ history.
He achieved things that very few skippers in franchise history have achieved.
The media recognized his incredible efforts and it’s a league-wide assumption that he deserved to take home the AL MOY.
AJ Hinch accomplished some incredible things with the Detroit Tigers, including an amazing comeback in the standings to secure a place in the postseason, and Matt Quatraro also deserved credit for leading the underdog Kansas City Royals to October.
No one deserved to win the award other than Vogt, though, who led the Guardians to the upper echelon of the American League.
