The Cleveland Guardians have been patient with Daniel Espino.
The pitcher has gone through a lot in his young career.
However, he’s proven to be worth the wait every time he takes the mound.
As shown by Guardians Prospective, that was the case again in his latest Arizona Fall League appearance.
The 24-year-old struck out two hitters in 1.2 innings for Surprise against Scottsdale.

He allowed two hits and one walk, throwing 23 strikes on 39 pitches.
Those numbers might not wow people at first, but his fastball averaged 96.5 mph and topped out at 98.7 mph.
So far in the Fall League, he’s given up four hits with three walks, seven strikeouts, and no earned runs in 4.2 innings.
Espino was a first-round pick in the 2019 MLB Draft, but multiple injuries have cost him years of his development.
He returned from two seasons off the field to make one start at Triple-A this season before continuing his comeback in Arizona.
That being said, he’s still young, and he’s showing signs of his potential as the hard-throwing righty the Guardians projected years ago.
He still has some hurdles to clear, and it will be a while before he finally gets to the majors.
But if he stays healthy, there’s no reason to believe he won’t be able to fulfill his destiny and become the dominant pitcher the Guardians always hoped he’d be.
