The Cleveland Guardians have arguably the best third baseman in baseball.
However, he’s not going to play forever.
At some point, Jose Ramirez’s illustrious career will come to an end.
Though he doesn’t want to talk about that right now, the All-Star hinted that he will stay close to the game.
“Because in the future, who knows? I can be a GM or a manager or a hitting coach,” Ramirez said. “You never know! I don’t want to stay in my house!”
Ramirez is getting better as the years go by, and he keeps adding to his legacy and impressive stats.
With the way he continues to produce, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him become the franchise leader in most offensive categories.
He’s pretty close to the top in several right now, and given his history of dependability and durability, he should eclipse most of those marks within the next couple of seasons.
Yet, things can change quickly for a professional athlete.
Some lose a step or their power almost overnight, while others struggle to stay healthy.
Hopefully, that won’t be the case with Ramirez.
With how much he’s given to the organization, and after hopefully spending his entire career with Cleveland, it will likely welcome him with open arms and support him in whatever role he chooses to pursue once he’s ready to leave the field.
They just hope that it won’t be soon.
