The Cleveland Guardians made history, and this regular season couldn’t have ended any differently.
The Guardians didn’t want to deal with tiebreakers or whatnot.
They wanted to win the AL Central, so they went out there and took it.
Afterward, manager Stephen Vogt shared a strong message about what his team had just accomplished.
“I learned a long time ago the word ‘deserved’ s****. No one deserves anything. … You have to go out and earn everything you get and, these guys went out and earned that division title,” Vogt said.
Great stuff here from Stephen Vogt.

That pretty much sums up how things have gone for the Guardians this season.
They didn’t feel sorry for themselves or just hoped to get better.
They took a deep look in the mirror and performed.
It was almost impossible to think that they would be able to do what they did, especially after watching them drop 10 games in a row and failing to win 10 games in June.
They were closer to the bottom of the AL Central than to the top at one point, but they never stopped pushing.
They also knew they had to take matters into their own hands and take care of business.
The Detroit Tigers’ epic collapse also helped, and chances are that this season would’ve played out differently 99 times out of 100.
Then again, the Guardians made sure to get the job done regardless of what was going on somewhere else.
Now, it’s time to keep moving on in the playoffs, which ironically begin against the Tigers in the AL Wild Card round.
