The Cleveland Guardians will forever be tied to Jose Ramirez.
The infielder continues to make franchise history almost every time he takes the field, so fans should be used to this by now.
That’s why the team didn’t even make a fuss after watching him accomplish yet another milestone.
Ramirez recently climbed to the No. 3 spot in games played in franchise history (1,561), passing legend Lou Boudreau.

Only Nap Lajoie (1,615) and Terry Turner (1,626) have played more games for the organization than Ramirez, so he’s bound to pass both of them early next season.
At 32 years old, Ramirez hasn’t shown any sign of slowing down.
An elite defender who’s an even better hitter, he has a case for being the most underrated and underappreciated player in baseball.
Earlier this season, he and Aaron Judge were the only players in the American League with a batting average of at least .300 and an OPS of at least .900, and with Judge as the MVP frontrunner, it’s hard to figure out why Ramirez doesn’t get the same recognition.
Even so, he’s never been about those types of distinctions.
If anything, he’s the type of player who lets his game do all the talking.
Hopefully, he will stay in Cleveland for the remainder of his career, and, more importantly, he will lead them to a World Series championship.
