Maybe the 2025 Cleveland Guardians are not as exciting as last year’s team, at least not at the moment.
They are still getting wins, though, and as long as that’s the case, they will have a chance to make it to the postseason.
Even if the 2025 team is still competing and giving its best every night without having the most talented roster, it’s easy to be excited about the Guardians’ 2026 team as well.
It will have Jose Ramirez, a more experienced Kyle Manzardo, Tanner Bibee, Gavin Williams, C.J. Kayfus, Cade Smith, Hunter Gaddis, probably Chase DeLauter, and another top prospect: Travis Bazzana.
The 2024 No. 1 pick is still in Double-A, but he deserves to be in Triple-A and should be up helping the Guardians next year.
Bruce Drennan reminded fans about an exciting reality: Bazzana is Cleveland’s future at the keystone.
“Bazzana is going to be the future second basemen, we know that for sure,” he said, also marveling at just how good he is and how he should be ready to start his journey in Cleveland next year.
Will we see Travis Bazzana in Cleveland next year? #GuardsBall

Some say he should see some time up in the majors late in 2025, but that’s highly unlikely.
A 2026 estimated time of arrival is much more appropriate for many reasons.
Bazzana is currently hitting a solid .270/.374/.448 with a 145 wRC+ in 45 Double-A games.
Those numbers say he already needs another challenge, and Triple-A seems like the right level for him at the moment.
He can do it all on a baseball field: hit for average, power, take walks, steal bases, and has made important strikes in being more aggressive at the plate.
The Guardians would love to see his defense improve a bit more, but he is just about ready for the next step.
The 2026 Guardians, with Bazzana and possibly DeLauter, will be one of the most entertaining teams in MLB.
