Saturday was a special day for Cleveland Guardians fans at Progressive Field.
It was Jose Ramirez’s jersey giveaway day, and the entire stadium was rocking the uniform, number, and name of one of the most influential players in franchise history.
Of course, just as one would expect, the day was perfect from start to finish.
Cleveland won its fourth consecutive game, and Ramirez was all over the positive result.
He went 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, two runs, and two RBI.
It was his 22nd blast of the year, and it had to feel good to do that on his own jersey day.
After the game, J-Ram had some heartfelt words for his fans.
“Very happy to see all the fans [in my jersey], but I get the love from them every day, not only today,” he said, per the Guardians’ official X site.

Ramirez is, without a doubt, one of the most beloved players in Guardians history.
He is a role model for an entire generation of kids from Cleveland and the Dominican Republic.
Ramirez might not talk too much, but he sends his messages the way he knows best: on a baseball field, playing hard, hitting home runs, and stealing bases.
Ramirez is hitting an even .300 with a .375 OBP and a .526 slugging percentage after Saturday’s masterpiece, in what has been another amazing year for him individually.
Can Ramirez overcome the adversity surrounding the team and lead it to the postseason again, though?
It’s a tall task, given the circumstances, but it’s certainly not impossible.
Not with Ramirez near the top of the lineup every day.
