The Cleveland Guardians came into Trade Deadline Day willing to listen to offers on all players with the notable exception of Jose Ramirez.
That, of course, includes Steven Kwan.
The fact that they will listen to approaches from other teams doesn’t mean they will just give their players away.
Kwan will only be moved for a package that clearly improves the team’s long-term outlook.
Fortunately for the Guardians, there is a lot of demand for a difference-making outfielder who is above-average offensively, defensively, and running the bases like Kwan.
As a result, MLB insider Jon Morosi says that Kwan is increasingly likely to be traded on Thursday.

Kwan, who has two seasons of team control beyond 2025, is hitting a solid .286/.350/.408 with nine home runs, 11 stolen bases, and a 113 wRC+.
He has accumulated 2.7 Wins Above Replacement (WAR) and projects to be around 4.0 at the end of the season, which is near elite.
The former All-Star and Gold Glove Award winner has plenty of suitors, but two teams have stood out: the San Diego Padres and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Right now, they are the favorites to land the 27-year-old Guardians star.
Cleveland, however, is holding out for a big return.
Rumor has it that they asked the Padres for uber-prospect Leo De Vries before he was used in the Mason Miller trade earlier on Thursday.
That’s the kind of haul the Guardians’ president of baseball operations, Chris Antonetti, is targeting.
Will he get a franchise-altering package for Kwan? That’s the million-dollar question, but it’s definitely looking like his future is away from Cleveland.
