The Cleveland Guardians are often criticized for their lack of consistent power, and rightfully so.
After all, they rank in the bottom half of the league with 105 home runs as of Tuesday afternoon, 19th among 30 teams.
The fact that they are inconsistent in the power department doesn’t necessarily mean that there isn’t potential to hit for more pop, though.
In fact, Cleveland does have, on paper, the ability to hit more homers if some of their hitters hit their stride.
Of course, it’s much easier said than done: consistency is perhaps the hardest thing to achieve for major leaguers.
It’s what separates the talented hitters from the truly great ones.
But the Guardians are starting to come around and show off that power ceiling.
“Guardians have homered in 11 straight games thanks to a 3-run shot by José Ramírez that ties the score in the bottom of the 1st. It’s the club’s longest streak since 2021,” team insider Joe Noga posted on X.

For a team that could go multiple games without scoring even two runs, 11 consecutive games with a homer seems like a magnificent achievement.
Angel Martinez is starting to heat up, Kyle Manzardo reminded fans about his abilities on Monday, and Jose Ramirez is playing at a very high level.
Even Bo Naylor, who has struggled mightily this season, went yard on Monday.
If the rest of the lineup can keep supporting J-Ram and the Guardians can bring in an impact power hitter via trade, this team could make a shocking turnaround, provided they also call up some impact talent available in the minor leagues.
The Guardians’ offense is showing signs of life, and a power surge is behind the recent successful run.
