The Cleveland Guardians often struggle to score three or four runs in most games this season.
Their offense needs an injection of talent, and Triple-A outfielder Chase DeLauter can certainly provide it.
Right field has been a problematic spot for Cleveland all year long, so plugging DeLauter there instead of worrying if he can play five times a week sounds like a viable solution.
The player keeps doing his part, which is producing on a nightly basis.
On Friday, he extended his already impressive on-base streak to 34 games in Columbus, just missing a huge homer but settling for a two-bagger.
“Cleveland Guardians 23-year-old OF prospect Chase DeLauter just missed a 2-run HR in the 1st inning tonight for Columbus, having to settle for a 400-foot RBI double 101.6 mph off the bat. DeLauter has now reached base safely in all 34 games played with the Clippers on the season,” Guardians Prospective posted on X.

It’s hard to really understand just how hard it is to get on base against professional pitchers throwing the ball near 100 mph and uncorking knee-buckling curveballs and sliders.
Now, picture a player doing it at least once in 34 consecutive contests.
It’s nothing short of amazing.
DeLauter, who is slashing an incredible .278/.383/.476 with five homers and a 131 wRC+ in Triple-A, has done enough to earn a call-up.
He gets on base, hits for contact and power, and rarely strikes out.
Having improved against lefties and showing impressive all-around skills, it’s only a matter of time before we see him in Cleveland helping the Guardians.
