The Cleveland Guardians have a bright future ahead of them.
They have a myriad of very promising prospects in their solid farm system.
Notably, Travis Bazzana might sit atop that list.
As pointed out by Guardians Prospective on X, the star prospect has been on a roll lately, as he’s reached base safely in 11 consecutive games.
Cleveland #Guardians updated minor league on-base streaks:
Travis Bazzana (Akron) 11
Dayan Frias (Akron) 11
Dauri Fernandez (ACL) 11
Petey Halpin (Columbus) 10
Christian Knapczyk (Lake County) 10
Juneiker Caceres (ACL) 10
Jonah Advincula (Lake County) 9
Tyresse Turner (Akron) 8…— Guardians Prospective (@CleGuardPro) May 18, 2025
Then again, his health will be something worth monitoring going forward.
Apparently, the former Oregon State star has had to be held out of the lineup since Wednesday because of side discomfort.
The No. 12 prospect in all of baseball and former No. 1 pick has yet to return, and the team hasn’t given any word or official update about his situation.
He’s hitting .252 with four home runs and 17 RBIs.
He also has a .795 OPS and a .362 on-base percentage at Akron.
Bazzana has turned plenty of heads with his great plate discipline and decision-making as a hitter.
He’s got a rare combination of power and contact for such a young player, and he’s been equally as successful against southpaws and righties.
The Guardians could certainly benefit from someone like him right now.
He’s expected to be called up at some point in the season, assuming he’s healthy.
That’s why it will be so crucial to take things slowly with him and his recovery.
The team should give some sort of update sooner rather than later.
Hopefully, they’re just erring on the side of caution here, and it won’t be anything serious or chronic that will keep him sidelined for long.
