Hiring Stephen Vogt has been one of the best moves the Cleveland Guardians have made in the last couple of years.
Last off-season, they were faced with the titanic task of replacing a Hall of Fame manager, Terry Francona.
The organization took a chance on a young, fresh voice with no previous managing experience in Stephen Vogt.
It’s fair to say their choice paid off: the Guards won the AL Central with 92 victories, eliminated the tough Detroit Tigers in the Division Series and fell to the New York Yankees in the AL Championship Series with pride and dignity.
President of baseball operations Chris Antonetti was asked about Vogt and he had an amazing response.
“It’s an awesome partnership and we’re really excited to continue to work with him moving forward.” @CleGuardians President of Baseball Ops. Chris Antonetti discusses Stephen Vogt’s exciting first year at the helm and what’s next,” MLB Network posted on X with the executive’s words.

It has been, indeed, a fantastic partnership.
Vogt, known as a players’ manager, is loved and respected by just about everyone in the clubhouse.
He has patience to let young players get their feet wet at the higher level, and is very good at establishing the right communication channels with them.
He also proved to be a winner, and even though he made mistakes in the regular season and playoffs, he is young and smart enough to learn from them.
Vogt has a chance to become a top manager in MLB, and it all started with the faith the team had in him from the go.
