There’s a new sheriff in town.
The AL Central division has been dominated by the Minnesota Twins all season long.
That is, until the Cleveland Guardians got hot.
After a quiet deadline, the Guardians heated up and pulled into a first-place tie with the Twins on Tuesday night.
Cleveland won again in Detroit last night while the Twins took another loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Now, the Guardians are the ones on top in the AL Central.
While the Guardians have gotten hot, the Twins have slowed down just a bit, allowing Cleveland to take hold of first place.
Local reporter Nick Camino tweeted a screenshot of the current AL Central standings this morning.

Look Who’s Talking
Things have changed in the AL Central division.
Heading into the season, many predicted that the Chicago White Sox would come out on top again.
Then the Twins took hold of first and have led the division since late June.
But the Guardians are the cream of the crop right now.
The Guardians have improved to 58-52 and lead the AL Central for the first time since they briefly led it in late June.
Cleveland has reached the postseason four out of the last six years, winning the AL Central three straight years from 2016-18 and reaching the World Series in 2016.
The Guardians fell short of the postseason a season ago and finished below .500 for the first time since 2012.
They were not expected to do much this season, yet here they are, leading the AL Central and controlling their own destiny.
The emergence of Steven Kwan and Nolan Jones has given them a shot in the arm.
Now, they’ll look to take home the division title for the first time since 2018.
