Plenty of pleasant surprises have led the Cleveland Guardians to where they are right now.
One of them has been the emergence of leadoff hitter Steven Kwan.
Kwan made the Opening Day roster and went on an incredible streak of not swinging and missing at any pitches, as well as not striking out.
And he hasn’t stopped there.
He came back down to Earth for a little while, but he’s red-hot again at the top of the Guardians lineup.
In fact, he’s on a 14-game hitting streak.
Bally Sports Cleveland tweeted to celebrate what Kwan has been able to do lately.

Unstoppable In July
Kwan has turned into the catalyst for this Guardians ballclub.
They needed a little extra boost in their offense to start the season and Kwan has given them just that.
The 24-year-old is showing no signs of slowing down either.
As the leadoff hitter for the Guardians, Kwan is hitting .295 with two home runs, 28 RBI, and a .365 on-base percentage.
He has been getting the job done for Cleveland and has been one of the many reasons why they find themselves in postseason contention at this point in the season.
Kwan has been the table-setter and catalyst.
A 14-game hitting streak is always impressive.
He’s been red-hot since the start of the season and is not slowing down.
He’s showing why he should be in the conversation for the American League Rookie of the Year Award.
This is a guy you can’t sleep on in the Guardians lineup.
They’ll need him to continue his hitting streak if they’re going to catch and pass the Minnesota Twins in the AL Central race.
For now, he’s on a roll and isn’t showing any signs of stopping.
