The Cleveland Guardians have found their manager for years to come. It didn’t take long before Stephen Vogt established himself among the league’s elite, and they continue to recognize his big efforts.
Vogt has only been in Cleveland for two years. In both of them, he’s been crowned as best in the business:

This was more than well-deserved. He led a team that seemed to have no chance of the playoffs, and he did so by making MLB history.
The Guardians trailed by as many as 15.5 games at one point in the season. That’s the largest deficit any team has ever had to overcome to clinch its division.
Vogt has already logged better numbers than the legendary Terry Francona had in his first two years in charge of the organization. He already has two divisional pennants under his belt, not to mention a trip to the ALCS.
The Guardians had no business making the playoffs this season. They lost their star closer and a key member of the rotation to a sports gambling scheme, and they won just nine games in June. Even so, Vogt kept them all pushing, focused, and working hard to achieve this goal.
Now, he’s about to enter the third and final year of the three-year deal the Guardians initially gave him. But after watching the way he’s embraced this role and what he’s been able to do in spite of the shortage of firepower, it’s safe to say that he should be given a long-term extension.
