When the Cleveland Guardians traded Francisco Lindor to the New York Mets, people didn’t realize that they were getting some solid players in return.
One of those players was Andres Gimenez, who might just be the most underrated player in all of baseball.
An American League All-Star this year, Gimenez is hitting .312 with 14 home runs, 56 RBI, and an .880 OPS.
But there’s more to his sudden rise to dominance.
One fan on Twitter pointed out some other stats that Gimenez has posted this season.
Keep in mind this is only his first full season in the big leagues, and he’s already put up some fantastic numbers.

An Underrated Superstar
Gimenez may not be getting the coverage he deserves, but he’s still putting together a great season.
His 153 wRC+ is tied for seventh-best in all of baseball.
He’s also stolen 15 bases and is tied for 13th best in baseball with a 4.3 fWAR.
He just isn’t getting talked about enough.
But he is quietly in the midst of a breakout season.
It may not have been a popular move at the time, but the Lindor trade got the Guardians some solid young players, Gimenez being one of them.
He, Amed Rosario, and Jose Ramirez have formed one of the best infield trios in all of baseball.
In his last seven games, Gimenez is hitting .455 with a .773 slugging percentage.
The Guardians would certainly not be in first place in the AL Central without the contributions of Gimenez.
We’ll see if he can help lead them to the postseason.
