The Cleveland Guardians need to get back on track.
For that to happen, they have to make some tweaks to get out of an offensive slump.
Cleveland got off to a strong start to the season, but this past month was nothing short of a disaster.
That was made even more evident by Joe Reedy, who pointed out that the Guardians just had the fifth-worst offensive month in franchise history.
Worst offensive months in #GuardsBall history:
.193 May 1910 (8-12)
.198 April 1971 (6-14)
.206 April 2021 (12-12)
.206 April 1907 (6-7)
.206 June 2025 (9-16)— Joe Reedy (@joereedy) June 29, 2025
Before the slide, the Guardians were in the mix to challenge the Detroit Tigers atop the AL Central.
That might still be on the table, but they need to do something to fix their offense, and they need to do it now.
Despite these offensive struggles, an AL Wild Card berth is within reach, and there’s plenty of baseball left to be played.
Nevertheless, the Guardians will have to make some tough decisions, either part with high-end prospects in trades for players who can help them win now, or bench some of their struggling veterans and make room for the new generation of prospects.
Whatever they do, they need to shake up the lineup.
The team has gotten little production from its outfielders, to the point where even Steven Kwan is struggling.
Something will have to change, and the clock is ticking.
