Shane Bieber is one of baseball’s top pitchers right now.
The Cleveland Guardians ace is pretty automatic when he just gets a little run support.
Give him a lead and he’ll keep it intact for his team.
He’s struggled a little bit lately, but the right-hander is 4-5 with a 3.24 ERA on the season.
He even threw his first complete game of the season yesterday, allowing just one run as the Guardians defeated the Chicago White Sox 4-1 in the first game of a doubleheader.
During the game, Jon Heyman tweeted about Bieber and just how good he can be when he just gets a little run support.
Shane Bieber is 37-1 when Cleveland scores 4 or more runs. That seems pretty good. (h/t Guardians TV)

An Impressive Mark
Obviously, the record is now 38-1 given that he finished the complete game yesterday and earned the win, but that’s still an impressive mark.
Like so many great starters in the game of baseball today, all Bieber needs is a little run support in order to go out there and dominate the opposition.
He did just that yesterday.
He went out on Tuesday and had the White Sox lineup scuffling.
His dominance briefly put Cleveland back over the .500 mark before they dropped the nightcap of the doubleheader.
But for game one, the story was Bieber.
Again, just a little run support can be enough for an ace pitcher to settle in and go deep into games.
The Guardians were lucky enough to pick up their four runs early.
One White Sox run in the seventh proved to be just a blip on the radar screen.
We’ll see if he can build upon his already impressive run support mark.
That’s the best way a team can help their starter go out and get a win.
