The Cleveland Guardians dropped Game 2 of the ALCS in New York on Tuesday night to fall down 0-2 to the Yankees, putting the team’s chances of winning its first World Series since 1948 in serious jeopardy.
Vibes are low in Cleveland, but one radio host is warning fans not to give up just yet.
Tony Rizzo of ESPN Cleveland isn’t giving up despite being down 0-2 and went on a passionate rant Wednesday morning on air, saying “Here’s what you need. Play your game. Get a nice starting outing from, who is it tomorrow, Boyd? Get a nice outing and win. Win the d*** game, get yourself back in the series, and let’s see what happens. Put the pressure on the Yankees…You score first, it’s easier.”

For a team with a dominant bullpen and a struggling offense, going behind early negates everything the team does well, so the team will desperately need a solid outing from Matthew Boyd in Game 3 along with the offense, hopefully, getting to Clarke Schmidt early and often.
Cleveland has put together a couple of late rallies in each of the first two games, but that’s not the recipe for beating the Yankees and will result in a sweep if that’s all the offense is capable of.
Game 3 would be a great time for the heart of the order to do some damage since Jose Ramirez and Josh Naylor have driven in just six runs in 52 postseason at-bats combined.
The team can’t wait around for another huge home run, it has to string hits together and get an early lead to hand the keys to the bullpen.
