The Cleveland Guardians experienced an unexpected and unforgettable journey in 2022, defying preseason expectations and winning the American League Central title.
But even after an exciting season, there are certain players on the roster who could end up being used as trade bait.
One of those players is Amed Rosario, who is drawing interest from a few teams.
The Miami Marlins may be one of those teams.
Rosario, 27, hit .283 with 11 home runs and 71 RBI during the 2022 season and was a key contributor as the Guardians outperformed their expectations.
On Twitter, a Marlins insider discussed shortstop options and listed Rosario as a possibility, with a fan responding and saying that Rosario would be a welcome addition in Miami.
Amed Rosario would instantly be our best SS since Jose Reyes. I’d call that pretty exciting https://t.co/nrVzK0nhpe

Guardians Shopping Rosario?
Rosario would give the Marlins a little boost in their lineup.
Miami already has a few solid starting pitchers in Sandy Alcantara, Pablo Lopez, and Jesus Luzardo.
Perhaps if the Guardians were to entertain trade offers, they could find a way to land either Lopez or Luzardo in exchange for Rosario.
If the Guardians were to trade him, it would only make sense that the asking price would be high.
Cleveland may need to dip into the utility infield market in free agency if they do in fact trade Rosario.
Brandon Drury could be a potential fit.
This is all merely speculation as of now.
The Guardians may decide not to trade Rosario, but with the offseason in full swing, anything can happen.
