The Cleveland Guardians need as much help as they can get right now.
Notably, it’s coming from a somewhat unexpected hero.
As pointed out by Sleeper Guardians on X, Nolan Jones is finally coming to life.
In his last nine games, the struggling outfielder has logged a .278 batting average to go along with a .825 OPS, five hits, two RBIs, and three runs scored.

More importantly, he had a crucial, game-saving home run in the win over the Tampa Bay Rays.
To say that this has been a disappointing season for Jones would be a massive understatement.
Once again, injuries have kept him from replicating what he did in 2023 with the Colorado Rockies, when he looked like a star in the making.
The Guardians haven’t gotten much production from their outfielders this season, and Jones’ injury woes have played a big part in that.
However, it’s never too late to help, and with this team still looking to make a playoff run, they’ll welcome him with open arms.
The Guardians are back to .500 and managed to secure a couple of close wins over the Rays to put an end to a worrisome six-game losing streak and avoid losing yet another series.
It won’t be easy, and they can’t afford to keep dropping winnable games, but they’re still pretty much in the running to get the final wild-card spot in the American League.
If Jones keeps this up, it will be tough not to have him on the field for the final stretch of the campaign.
