Even after everything he has already accomplished in a Cleveland uniform, Jose Ramirez is still approaching the offseason like a player trying to earn a roster spot.
A new video circulating on social media this week showed the Guardians superstar already grinding in preparation for spring training — a sight that should excite just about everyone in Northeast Ohio.
The clip, shared by Guardians Prospective, shows Jose Ramirez working out alongside a pair of younger teammates as they gear up for camp.
“Cleveland Guardians Jose Ramirez putting in work getting ready for spring training along with Gabriel Arias and Angel Martinez,” Guardians Perspective posted.

For Ramirez, none of this is new.
If anything, it’s exactly why he continues to be the heartbeat of the organization.
Multiple All-Star appearances. MVP-caliber seasons. A long-term commitment to Cleveland. He has nothing left to prove individually. And yet, every offseason, the same thing happens — he shows up early, puts in the work, and sets the tone.
That kind of leadership matters, especially for a young roster.
Seeing your franchise cornerstone grinding through workouts in February sends a message. It tells the younger guys what’s expected. It reinforces the culture the Guardians have tried to build for years: preparation, accountability, and consistency.
It’s also encouraging from a baseball standpoint.
Ramirez remains the engine that drives Cleveland’s offense. When he’s locked in, everything looks different. Runs come easier. Keeping him sharp and healthy is priority No. 1.
For Guardians fans, it’s a familiar and reassuring sight.
Their leader is already preparing.
Spring training is still weeks away, yet Jose Ramirez is acting like it starts tomorrow. And honestly, that’s exactly what you want from the face of the franchise.
